About Cindi

A stage 3B Melanoma survivor for 7 years and counting ,Cindi suffered through not only cancer, but 3 life threatening cellulitis infections due to her untreated Lymphedema.In order to prevent the melanoma from spreading, Cindi had to undergo a lymph node dissection surgery of her left leg/ groin area at UCI Medical Center by Dr James G. Jakowatz.Though this lymph node dissection surgery saved her life, Cindi was left with a high risk for developing Lymphedema.Lymphedema is a lymphatic obstruction which causes localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system.
Over time Cindi developed an intense passion for the field of Lymphedema. She has learned how to cope and manage her condition while still enjoying a normal healthy life.Cindi is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Certified Massage Therapist. She also has a Surgical Technology Diploma and is a California State Licensed Esthetician.	Recipient of the Warrior Award from Dr Smith for Melanoma Survival 2012
